There are many dishwashers available on the market these days, and we realize that trying to pick one that suits your personal needs can be very difficult at times. We’ve set about the task of making it more simple for you. By breaking down some Whirlpool products’ attributes and disadvantages, we’ve been able to come up with this quick and easy-to-read review. We’ve chosen to focus this review primarily on a dishwasher called the Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher, but we’ve also selected others that are in its style and price class to highlight the differences, commonalities, and various advantages between them.

What Is the Whirlpool Gold Series Dishwasher WDT720PADM?

We really liked the Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher, because it has an eco-friendly sensor wash included as one of its wash cycles. It’s also certified as an ENERGY STAR product. The Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher holds a high capacity of dishes. You can put up to 15 place settings in the dishwasher on its two racks! Overall, it helps reduce energy costs and allows for more dishes per load.

Product Specs

The Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher features 5 customizable cycles. The 5 cycles include normal, heavy, sensor wash, one-hour wash, and a soak and clean cycle. It has one of the most widely coveted dishwasher features. This is referring to the fact that it operates a silverware spray cycle, ensuring an optimal clean. It will spray concentrated water directly and specifically onto the silverware in order to remove dried-on food. You won’t ever have to worry about your silverware still having stuck on grime after a run through the Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher.

The 24-hour delay start timer is an excellent bonus, allowing for dishwasher cycles to be run through at a time you may be absent or otherwise occupied. Though the Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher has several well-integrated eco-friendly features, one downside is that it is louder than other similar dishwashers we’d researched. It runs at about 50 decibels. Also, its manual filter calls for the owner to clean it regularly. Overall, we have found that the benefits of the Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher outweigh the downsides.

Pricing

The Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher can be purchased for around $600 dollars, and because of its energy-saving qualities, it only costs around $31 a year to run.

Ease of Use

Having the ability to delay wash cycles by an extra 24 hours makes it clear that this deserves a high-rating when it comes to ease of use. Also, we like that consumers can shift place settings and adjust the inner prongs in a way that allows for a higher capacity of dishes, based upon the dishes’ shapes and sizes.

Performance

The Triple Filtration System and Sensor Cycle deliver excellent performance- meaning spotless dishes, glasses, and utensils are not only expected but ensured!

Design Quality

The silverware bin is located precisely and uniquely. This aspect gives the dishwasher an extra large capacity for holding dishes, and this is all regardless of the fact that the washer itself fits in the standard kitchen dishwasher opening. It also has a feature called Cycle Memory. It remembers the last cycle you ran, and you may duplicate it with a single touch!

Warranty

The warranty is one downside. The Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher is only on a warranty for about a year.

  • Uniquely located silverware bin allows for a larger amount of dishes to be washed
  • Has several cycle options

The stainless steel exterior and ENERGY STAR rating make this dishwasher an excellent product. It has a 1-hour wash cycle to ensure a more expedient cleaning time overall. It also remembers the last cycle, so the next time you wash it, the same cleaning cycle will be automatically selected. The AccuSoil sensor reads the soil-level on your dishes, adjusting the Normal Cycle. Because of the stainless steel features, it is resistant to scuffs, scratches, and rust. It will not only be an unobtrusive feature in your kitchen but also a notably attractive one, lending its top-notch appearance to cater to the overall modern feel of any kitchen.

Price

It’s a low to mid-priced model available across a wide range of establishments! You may find it on the Sears website, Best Buy, and the Whirlpool website.

Ease of Use

Its ease of use is hindered by its somewhat higher 55dB silence rating. Because of this, it is quite a bit louder than the Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher, with only 50 dB. It holds 14 place settings. For customized cleaning, the Normal Cycle can be adapted with the AccuSense Soil Sensor. Its standard size integrates perfectly with nearly any kitchen design. Whirlpool has equipped it with a user-friendly control panel that is accessible at the top of the door. They’ve designed a panel with various controls. You can easily customize the dishwashing experience to meet your needs.

Performance

We like the Sani-Rinse cycle. The dishwasher’s contents will be thoroughly cleansed and sanitized for safety purposes! Whirlpool has equipped the appliance with corrosion-free and rustproof powder, so it will withstand the years of corrosive soaps and dishwashing experiences.

Design Quality

The racks are vinyl-coated to add to the dishwasher’s overall long-term quality. They are durable. We also enjoy the stylish and sleek stainless steel features. The AnyWare Plus silverware basket is a desirable and ease-generating feature. Rack space can be better utilized because the silverware basket can be placed in the door or in the front of the lower rack

It has a 1-year limited warranty.

It features 5 different cycles and a high-temperature wash. The sensor clean makes it’s a choice purchase. It has many features that are typically only available with machines which are in a much higher price range. It’s also complete with a heavy duty wash and quick-wash setting. It is also ENERGY STAR rated. It fits a fairly large amount of dishes.

Price

Its quality is high relative to the price!

Ease of Use

We really liked the Sani-Rinse element and the Control Lock. The AnyWare basket makes it an up-to-date model that is similar to many other Whirlpool brand options. It has a longer total run time than many models on the market, but it gets dishes cleaner. All of this is possible with just a bit of strategizing by the user. The cycle time adjusts depending on what the sensors tell it. This dishwasher doesn’t always dry dishes effectively.

Performance

The decibel level is only 53, but still higher than the Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher. The 1-hour wash option cleans dishes in only half the time. The high-temperature wash and Sani-Rinse are only two of its more admirable settings. However, the cycles are long in comparison to some other select models. Regardless of whether food has been dried or caked on, it tends to clean the dishes spotless. Target Clean jets adequately remove baked-on debris. The silverware spray feature is outstanding, and it handles easily most heavy cleaning jobs easily.

Design Quality

The silverware holder, when placed at the bottom of the door, saves space in the lower rack! The racks are spacious. The dishwasher can assess how dirty or clean the dishes are. It has an ample amount of slots for flatware.

Warranty

This one also comes with a Limited Manufacturer’s Warranty.

PROS

  • Saves water and energy
  • Easy to use and uncomplicated controls
  • Quick wash setting

CONS

  • Tines do not fold down
  • Silverware basket, when left in the door, does not allow the silverware to dry properly
  • Latch button on the door makes it more difficult to open
  • Cycles take too long
  • No audible signal to know when dishes are clean

We really liked this one for many reasons. Because of the Heated Dry option, you can remove a clean, dry dish directly from the washer! It also contains the AnyWare silverware basket. It features Cycle Memory, ensuring automatic selection of the cycle settings that were used during the previous wash. One element that really stands out about this dishwasher, that several other dishwashers do not have, is that the user can select how long they would like to delay the wash cycle. One can choose between 1-24 hours. It also is monochromatic, meaning that it has gray-colored sides to match the stainless steel door, rather than black ones. This contributes to a sleeker overall appearance. The stainless steel is also fingerprint resistant.

Price

This dishwasher can be found online on Goedeker’s website. It also may be found on several other sites.

Ease of Use

We liked it because not only is it very quiet. It has multiple cycle options that are extremely efficient. It also features the AnyWare silverware basket, enabling access to more space. The basket can be moved away from the lower rack and placed instead on the door. The one-hour cycle uses more energy than the longer cycle options.

Performance

It washes reasonably well, and the dishes come out clean. The cycles take longer than what would be ideal. Due to the way it’s designed, some detergent pods do not completely dissolve. It does a great job cleaning the dishes without causing damage to them, unlike many other dishwashers which may occasionally melt certain dishes.s

Design Quality

This one only holds enough space for 12 place settings. It has a full control console. It is also rather quiet. We forgot while standing next to it talking that it was even running. The heat feature gets dishes dry and warm. The interior is stainless steel rather than plastic.

Warranty

It comes with a limited warranty, only to take into account any problem with the dishwasher that affects its function.

PROS

  • 1-24 Hour Delay element allows you to choose when your dishes will be washed
  • Quiet and efficient
  • Received the ENERGY STAR rating

CONS

  • Three-hour run time is way too long
  • Dishes do not always become dry
  • Layout does not encourage stacking multiple bowls in a row
  • Rack prongs do not fold down unlike other models
  • Top corners on the inside of the door are sharp

Conclusion

Compared to the other products we’ve reviewed here, we’ve given the Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher an overall rating of 4. Though it is slightly more expensive than some other Whirlpool brand dishwashers, it contains some of the greatest features. In recap, the Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher features the option of either an air-based or heat-based drying process. It has a status light, unlike some other models, and it also helps to cut energy costs. It also features fold-down tines. The Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher is a solid choice for anyone looking for an effective, efficient, relatively quiet dishwasher to add to their kitchen.
