Cycles - 5 different wash cycles -

This is a versatile appliance both in design and the technology it uses. The heavy wash cycle is ideal for cleaning utensils that contain grease and dried-on food. These are the utensils that would normally call for soaking but with this cycle, life's made easy.

The auto wash cycle contains a highly responsive soil-sensing capacity. It's ideal for cleaning silverware and dishes of different forms amounts of dirt.
The normal cycle is meant for moderately soiled dishes, which will all come out clean regardless of the load size.

Unique features?

Bosch SHP65T55UC 500 Series – fully loaded

– Infolight® technology –

Because it was built to be very quiet you have an indicator light to mark when the appliance is running. This is why Bosh integrated the infolight, a red indicator that illuminates the floor so that you don’t rush to open the dishwasher when the cycle is not yet complete.

Improved drying comes with the sanitize option; you can use it in combination with any cycle to

heat the water to get rid of all bacteria. The heat also facilitates the drying process.

It features a self-latching door to keep it open, allowing you to complete the loading without disturbance.

  • Were it not for the red light that shines on the floor, I wouldn’t have known that the dishwasher is running. Its performance top-notch. I would recommend it to anyone that has a lot of dishes to clean. Make sure to take advantage of the offer !

Mike Verrati

  • The wash cycles are amazing. I simply combine any of the wash cycles with the sanitize option just to ensure that there is no trace of bacteria left. It’s fast and all in all an excellent kitchen appliance. I couldn’t live without it now, as I got so used to it.

The Verdict?

There are dishwashers out there that will out-perform this one, but not in this price range – actually not even close. Those are the professional or commercial type that cost thousands of dollars. So, the Bosch SHP65T55UC 500 series is the best buy when it comes to price-performance ratio.

Operating smoothly and efficiently, it will only take minutes to clean any type of utensils and dishes. It’s also very efficient when it comes to power and water consumption, making it one of the most economical options on the market today.

I awarded this dishwasher the title of "best fully integrated model in the middle price range". It's simply the most efficient appliance for the money you pay. It's very silent, it has integrated technologies that will kill the bacteria and in all my testing it cleaned the dishes and other utensils perfectly. It scored 98 out of 100 in the DGR system! If you are looking for a great built-in dishwasher just get this one, you'll love it!

  1. I purchased model # SHP65T55UC and before I removed all the plastic wrap around the dish washer
I saw what looked like stamp marks that ran the entire length across the front door and around part of the sides. Then I opened the door to find water stains and standing water inside with what looked like mold from the moisture.
I was not happy at all.
I called Bosch and they would replace the door but I wanted them to replace the entire machine, they declined and referred me to the Lowes store I bought it at.

    • Hi Michael,

      So sorry to hear this….
This is why I always recommend buying from Amazon. You would have been better protected.
Also, let me tell you that there are not that many people complaining about Bosh customer care.
They usually are very professional and helpful…
They do have a point this time, the one to blame is the Lowes store.

Hope you’ll solve this and get a refund. Do write again and let us know how it went.

    • What does not make sense to me is why in the world you did not SIMPLY take the dishasher BACK to lowes NOT to fix it but to RETURN it? Seems like we might not be getting the whole story …was it on super sale? Like a blow out “open box” ? So you wanted to not only have bought it ultra cheap but wanted to convert the purchase to pristine brand new never opened?? See this makes sense WHY you would not SIMPLY return it for refund ….because you did not want to LOSE the great PRICE you had obtained it at??? ….COME ON man…CONFESS! Tell the WHOLE story not just the edited version ….

  2. Hi George,

Man I’m glad I’ve stumbled upon your website. I think I wasted days before I found your website, just to try and figure out what to get. When it comes to dishwashers there really are quite a few choices to consider…

Long story short, I read your review here of the Bosh 500 and I decided to get it – It was the best decision and investment ever – I love the thing, and now I’m wondering how in the world was I living without a dishwasher – it makes no sense…

Anyways, what I’m trying to say here is a Sincere Thank You.

    Stay well dude!

  3. Hi George i just bought this dishwater , my firsts comments are : It replaced a year 2000 model Bosch mid range rated back then at 50db. This model rates at 44db but from 20 feet away with no noise in the house they both seem to have the same decibel in my ear !!! The wash cycles are much longer and in the end the drying even with sanitize option does not dry the dishes as much…
Why do you think that is ??? At the end of a normal cycle in my old Bosch i could barely touch the dishes they were so hot !

  4. My present dishwasher (Maytag) needs to be replaced. It is 33-1/2″ high. I need a dishwasher no taller than 32″. Can you help me?

    • That’s really not that case.
People who report that do not even go through the “trouble” of cleaning the unit itself.
Every few weeks the filters must be cleaned as a minimum maintenance. To be clear that’s a 1 minute job. Just remove them, wash and put them back.
I noticed some bad reviews out there – but most are from people that simply do not understand what a dishwashers is meat to do and expect wonders.

The Bosh 500 is still one of the best dishwashers out there no doubt about that!

  5. Just installed a SHX6565T55 to replace a leaky LG. There was an odour from water left in the tub I guess from factory testing since it was well wrapped in plastic. The build date was 3 months earlier. I wonder how much worse the odour would be after a year. It isn’t quite as quiet as the older LG but quiet enough. Cleans well. Dries okay. Could have used more folding options in the racks.

  6. Hi … thanks for your informative website! I have read reviews on this model about the handle breaking over and over and over. It appears it is from the stress-points caused by the three screws. Any thoughts on this? Thanks.

  7. I see that there is no pause button. Sometimes I need to add forgotten dishes. Can the cycle be stopped to add? I am pretty sure this is the dishwasher for us, I just need this question answered.

    Thank you!

  8. Hi George.
I’m going crazy trying to figure out what to get. Theres no such thing as a budget dishwasher.. after tax/delivery/install/warranty.. etc its almost 1k either way..

I’m more interested i reliability than bells whitsles fancy features.. I do hv granite to put it under so front controls are better. My other appliances are Stainless but I would go with black if necessary to suit a budget/reliability combo.. Size can b standard 24/24/34

One store, small appliance place, with great CUSTOMER SERVICE RECORD IS SUGGESTING: KDFE104DSS or SHE53TL6UC both in 1k range after all charges.

Oh.. my credit card extends manufacturer warranty for 2 more years.. Do u think this is enough? or is it better to get the 5 year from the manufacturer for $165??

  9. Just bought this dishwasher . . . floor model . . . and got a fabulous deal. They were ready to roll out the ‘new’ models. Well, I’ve seen what replace it and it looks the same; I think just a couple of extra buttons…for a max price. So happy with this dwasher! Can you tell me do it have a leak detector? I thought I saw that somewhere but can’t remember.

  10. Please help! My BRAND NEW Bosch SHP65T55UC dishwasher does not dry. I have tried all the recommendations and have spent countless hours on the phone with service. No matter when I wash and how fast or how long I wait to unload the dishes are still wet. As for my claim, I also have had to call in for an update as no one has ever called me back You even closed my case without telling me. The last person that I spoke with said that there is nothing wrong with my dishwasher and there is no way to escalate because the tech that came out said that it was okay. Since I have gotten no support from my claim, I am forced to try BBB, Social Media, and writing letters to Bosch Customer Service.
As an FYI, my 14 year old dishwasher worked better than my new Bosch. Case number 1728469. #Bosch #BoschDishwasherSucks #BoschDishwasherDoesNotDry #BoschCustomerServiceNONEXISTANT

  11. Hi, I was looking at this series of Bosch and a lot of the comments refer to the tub needing to be reinforced which causes problems with the door latch. Is this an issue and is there a workaround if it is?

  12. I purchased this dishwasher (SHP65T55UC/09, FD – 9612) a year ago and I am very unhappy with the dishwashing results. Dishes come out dirty. I regularly clean the filter on the floor, but it helps nothing. I used to have a Kitchen Aid brand, and the results were much, much better. It even cleaned pots fairly well. On this one, unless I pre-clean it, even plates and utensils come out dirty. I start hating it. Any suggestions?

  13. Just purchased the SHPM65W56N DW and the tub does not dry completely, the walls retain a great deal of moisture. I had a repair man out after 3 washes and had him check the drying situation. He found it was working perfectly and suggested I leave the door open so the tub can dry out. So I have a unit that does not dry out and I have to leave the door all the way open overnight so it will air dry out. It was $850. I would not purchase again nor would I recommend .

  14. i looked up reviews for Bosch SHP65T55UC and they are terrible. Most people gave it 3 stars or less so nopt understanding why it is rated highly here?
