Best 4 KitchenAid Superba Dishwasher Reviews
1. KitchenAid KUDE70FXSS Superba Series EQ Dishwasher
Starting with one of the most advanced products in the industry, the KUDE70FXSS has a stainless steel front panel and features a sophisticated integrated console design. Moving on to the inside, the interior is stainless and has a 16 place setting capacity which is more than enough for a 5-member family. Moreover, there are 2 cup levels and a third level rack designated for culinary tools. Both the upper and lower rack tines can be folded down. The upper rack can be set in two positions. Regarding materials, the racks are nylon coated and feature the SatinGlide technology.
Furthermore, this fully integrated dishwasher offers a wide variety of washing modes to the user. Starting off, you can choose from six cycle options and as many as 7 different cleaning options. Some of the most useful ones would be the Pro Wash cycle combined with the Pro Dry and ProScrub options as well as the Rinse only and sanitize option for quicker but still great results. Last but not least, this KitchenAid Superba dishwasher emits a fairly quiet sound at 40dBA as it features the company’s signature “Whisper Quiet Sound Isolation” technology.
- Ease of Use
- Design Quality
There are lots of options, maybe even too many, to choose from. Combine this with the Control Lockout feature so that nobody can mess with the dishwasher while it’s doing its job and you get total control over your machine.
Initially, we were going to award it with 5 stars but after testing the product we found out that some parts aren’t as sturdy as they were advertised to be. On the exterior, the dishwasher integrates very well with the counter and offers a beautiful aura to the kitchen.
There is a 1-year limited warranty on parts and labor which seems a little fishy to us as some people have reported that specific parts are fairly easy to snap or deteriorate after a few months. Other than that, you’ll get a 5-year limited warranty on parts (racks) and the electronic controls. Last, there is a lifetime warranty on selective parts and the stainless interior.
- Many cycle options and features
- Very easy to use
- Some utensils require more than a single cycle to clean completely
- Specific parts can break easily
- The warranty on some parts isn’t that good
2. KitchenAid KUDS30IXBT Superba Series Dishwasher
Moving on to the next contender, the KUDS30IXBT is fairly similar to the previous model we talked about. The front panel is slightly different as the controls have a distinct layout and aren’t all placed in a compact touchscreen. Material-wise you’ll find stainless steel both in the interior and exterior of the dishwasher.
Moving on to its performance, this KitchenAid Superba dishwasher offers 14 place settings. The upper rack and the tines can be folded down. In the inside, you’ll also find SatinGlide rack glides but the racks are made from nylon. On the upside though, there is a selection of 4 cycles and 6 washing options including a Light/China cycle as well as a high-temp scrub option to take care of those stubborn stains. A built-in hard food disposer, heated drying, and control lockout options are also available.
This model is usually sold in a bisque color which we don’t find particularly suitable for most kitchen designs. The sound level is fairly low for a dishwasher at 49dBA (tested) but could certainly be less noisy. That being said, we believe that the adjustable upper rack and the folding tines in combination with the included culinary utensils basket make up for most of its drawbacks.
- Ease of Use
- Design Quality
Don’t get us wrong–the controls are very good and easy to figure out but we would prefer a more compact design. They mostly occupy the whole upper row of the front panel.
Regarding the materials, things couldn’t be much better. The exterior is fine but the bisque color (most easy to find) isn’t very pleasing to the eye. In the interior specific parts could be much sturdier and made with high-quality materials but you get what you pay for.
Yes, the warranty is identical to that of the previous model. You get the replacement and labor for the majority of the parts for the first year and another four after that for selective parts. The stainless steel tub and the inner door liner have a lifetime warranty. The reason we give 5 stars is that of the affordable prize but still uncompromised warranty.
- Fairly quiet
- Light/China cycle
- The layout of the controls isn’t compact
- Difficult to blend in with other kitchen devices
3. Kitchenaid KUDE50CXSS Superba Series EQ Dishwasher
Moving to a higher price once again, this Kitchenaid Superba series is a top-of-the-line product as it’s made with premium material including stainless steel both in the exterior and the interior. Controlling it is a breeze as it features a fully digital console with child lock settings. On the downside, it is not ADA-compliant so people with specific disabilities may not be able to control it as easily.
Regarding the performance, the KUDE50CXSS has a 15 place capacity, with an adjustable upper rack and tines that can be folded down for convenience and easier storing. The tub is fairly tall so you won’t be having a problem with fitting big or long utensils. Moreover, the dishwasher is equipped with a rinse aid dispenser and has the ability to heat and filtrate the water before washing. It has 6 cycle selections and 7 cleaning options including high-temp scrubbing, quick cleaning, drying, and heavy duty washing.
Just like the KUDE70FXSS, it has a 40dBA sound level and a delay set option so that it can be configured to begin washing while you are away. Also worth mentioning is that this KitchenAid Superba dishwasher is much more efficient and consumes less power and water but still provides great results.
- Ease of Use
- Design Quality
It is very easy to get used to as the controls are laid out very well. The child lock is just a good extra to have!
Normally we’d give it 4 stars but this time we’re making an exception as it is made of the same exact materials as the KUDE70FXSS but is much cheaper.
You get a 1-year limited warranty on most of the parts, a 5-year limited warranty on selective parts, and a lifetime warranty on the stainless steel tub and the inner door liner.
- Tons of washing and cycle options
- Made with high-quality materials
- Great control layout
- The vents are on the side so it isn’t suitable for all kitchen designs
- Some users had to replace the upper rack’s roller posts
4. KitchenAid Superba KUDS30FXSS
Moving on to our last KitchenAid Superba dishwasher for the day, the fully integrated KUDS30FXSS could be the best bang for your buck and here is why. Starting with the design, both the exterior front panel and the majority of the interior are made with high-quality stainless steel. The control console is fully integrated and blends in easily with any kitchen design thanks to the silver finish.
In the interior, you’ll find 36 spray jets, powerful enough to clean even the worst stains on the first cycle. Talking about cycles, there are 6 cycle options and 4 washing programs. One-hour quick wash, heat dry, ProScrub, and high temperature are all offered.
This KitchenAid Superba dishwasher has a 15-place capacity and the upper rack as well as the tines are both adjustable and can be folded down for convenient storing. It does not provide, on the downside, a third rack for cutlery or other kitchen utensils. Also, the fact that the dishwasher can handle China/crystal cookware is debatable as the machine performed differently on some of them.
Continuing to the miscellaneous aspects, a child lock feature is provided. The sound level is 49dBA (tested) which is fairly low-profile compared to dishwashers made by other major manufacturers. What we found particularly pleasing was the power usage of this thing. On average it will burn through 288kW per year which translates to around $35 for US standards.
- Ease of Use
- Design Quality
Well, any digital compact control interface with a child lock feature gets a thumbs up from us. Combine this with easy to select modes and you get a top-notch control system.
There have been multiple comments about the top rack’s poor quality. Since it plays a big role in the whole design aspect, we had to subtract a star from our rating. Plus, many people have stated that they had to call in for service multiple times in a small time window.
You get a 1-year limited warranty on most of the parts. Selected parts have a 5-year limited warranty and there is a lifetime warranty on the stainless steel tub and the inner door liner just like with all the previously mentioned dishwashers. Also worth mentioning is the fact that a 5-year warranty plan on all parts costs about $550 which could be an indicator that the manufacturer believes the machine will break down after a while and thus there will be a need for repair.
- Extremely low power consumption
- Very easy to use–plus you get a child lock feature
- Blends in with all kitchen styles
- The top rack is very fragile (because it is made of plastic and features a snap-off design)
- The third rack isn’t provided
- Not suitable for select China/crystal cookware
Regarding the featured program we’d have to say that this KitchenAid Superba dishwasher is of premium quality and features a ton of useful washing modes and cycle options. It has a large setting capacity and a beautiful design but we do think it is a bit overpriced. This is why we are awarding it with 4/5 stars.
